Because there was always supply and demand, economic activities developed. At the end of the day, it was realized that the people of Antiquity had similar production and trade practices as us and this heritage has been carried to today.”

Organized by our Agency in cooperation with the Excavation Directorates of Yeşilova Mound, Smyrna-Bayraklı Mound and Smyrna Ancient City, Memory Izmir “Symposium on Izmir Studies in Antiquity” was held at EGIAD Social and Cultural Activities Center (ESKEM) - Historic Portuguese Synagogue with the participation of expert researchers and academicians.
During the two-day event, information about the production and trade life of Ancient Izmir was presented, and the latest findings and information obtained from the excavations were shared with the public. For abstracts Click here.
We were very pleased to organize the first symposium of our symposium, which we would like to expand its scope to include other excavation directorates in Izmir in time and make it traditional. We would like to thank our esteemed academicians who contributed to our event for two days and Izmir lovers who followed our symposium with interest.
