The new book of our Agency's Cultural Publications has been published. Our book from the People of Culture Series is about Hamza Rüstem, one of the first Muslim Turkish photographers of Izmir. Hamza Rüstem, who came to Izmir from Crete in 1925 as part of the population exchange, worked for nearly half a century in the photography studio he opened in Kemeraltı, which is still run by his grandchildren today, and made great contributions to the visual memory of our city with the photographs he took during this time.

Through this precious work written by his grandson Mert Rüstem and edited by Mehmet Akif Köseoğlu and Güray Gümüş, we not only witness the life story of Hamza Rüstem but also take a look at Izmir through the photographs taken through his eyes.

Our work from the link you can access.
