As the İzmir Development Agency, “Memory Izmir” We are bringing our urban culture projects under the brand mark to art lovers with an exhibition dedicated to our Agency’s 20th anniversary.
“The Painters of Izmir, Painters of Izmir” The exhibition examines İzmir’s multilayered identity through the unique perspectives and personal memories of 33 artists.
Over a year, 33 Izmir-based artists created new works based on the exhibition’s theme. Interpreting the city through the traces it left in their own experiences, artistic sensibilities, and memories, the artists brought to the canvas not only the streets, coasts, structures, and daily life of Izmir, but also the places and emotions that reside in personal memories.
Bringing together the original interpretations of 33 artists from different generations and artistic perspectives about Izmir, the exhibition reinterprets the memory of the city through art, bringing it to life in its different times, places, and emotions.
In our exhibition where the memory of the city meets art, we wish to meet with all Izmir residents.
