As part of our agency's Izmir Memory studies, a symposium will be held where the development of Izmir as an important port city in the Eastern Mediterranean from the 11th to the 18th century will be examined from different perspectives, with 18 papers to be presented.
It is hoped that the symposium, which will be attended by competent academics from Turkey and abroad, will contribute to a better understanding of İzmir's Middle and Early Modern Ages and pave the way for new research in this field.
